Choline has controlled human feeding studies, vitamin B12 has randomized trials looking at fatigue and energy claims, and methionine and inositol both sit inside a long nutrition literature. Fed 57 healthy adults a controlled diet, first with plenty of choline and then with very little, using blood tests and MRI scans to track organ function. Most men and postmenopausal women developed a buildup of fat in the liver or signs of muscle strain on the low-choline diet, and these changes went away once choline was added back.
