Glutathione
What the molecule is, where the sequence comes from, and what it binds. This page does not describe what Glutathione does.
Structure
What Glutathione is
Origin. The tripeptide gamma-glutamyl-cysteinyl-glycine, present in most cells.
Molecular target. A thiol-bearing tripeptide, cycling between reduced and oxidized disulfide forms.
Both statements are facts about the molecule and can be checked against any reference database. Neither is a statement about an outcome, and this page makes none.

Grouped by structure
Mitochondrial and cofactor
Peptides encoded in or targeted to the mitochondrion, and the cofactors that pathway runs on.
Compounds on this site are grouped by what the molecule is, not by what anyone intends to do with it. Glutathione sits with 5 other compounds in this group because of its structure and its target, and for no other reason.
Compared side by side: Glutathione vs MOTS-c and 5-Amino-1MQ vs Glutathione.
