Semax
What the molecule is, where the sequence comes from, and what it binds. This page does not describe what Semax does.
Structure
What Semax is
Origin. A synthetic analog of the ACTH(4-7) fragment, extended with a proline-glycine-proline tail.
Molecular target. Derived from the adrenocorticotropic hormone sequence, modified for stability against enzymatic cleavage.
Both statements are facts about the molecule and can be checked against any reference database. Neither is a statement about an outcome, and this page makes none.
- Class

Grouped by structure
Signalling peptides
Short sequences that bind a receptor or a partner protein. Grouped by what the molecule is and what it binds, not by what anyone intends to do with it.
Compounds on this site are grouped by what the molecule is, not by what anyone intends to do with it. Semax sits with 10 other compounds in this group because of its structure and its target, and for no other reason.
Compared side by side: Semax vs TB-500 and Selank vs Semax.
